Substance Abuse Wrap Around Program is a collaborative program between multiple treatment providers and Mental Health America to improve recovery outcomes for people with substance use and mental disorders. Mental Health America provides access to intensive, individualized services including a wide range of support services tailored to meet the participant’s needs. Primary support is provided by a Peer Support Specialist during the critical early stages of recovery to maximize the participants success as they transition from residential substance use treatment back into the community. Individuals commit to working with their Peer Support Specialist for 1 – 2 years after treatment to assist the participant in recognizing barriers and in order to help prevent return to use via our goal planning sheet. Substance Abuse Wrap Around is modeled on evidence practices that show that people are most successful when relationships begin to be built as soon as they enter treatment. Maintaining the connection is a key element in keeping the participant on goal during high risk points of recovery.
